What you should know about Akwaaba Lodge
The biggest variety of predators in South Africa, Our aim when you grace our doorstep, is to make you feel welcome. Superior hospitality together with seamless service to ensure an unforgettable experience. We experienced problems with the hot water pressure in the room but the staff at Akwaaba was keen to have it fixed quickly. The room offered comfortable accommodation with air conditioning, satellite TV and access to the pool. The staff at Akwaaba Lodge and our guide Biggie, were set on providing us with memorable experiences and they succeeded. She is responsible for many breath taking moments at Akwaaba, and she knows it very well. Your family & friends can come and enjoy an experience of a lifetime. Let them prepare you a mouth-watering meal from our menu. We offer one of the most exciting volunteer working holiday programs in. Become part of an amazing team and be involved with maintaining and caring for our beloved animals. Having the most species of exotic cats in our park than anywhere else in the country, we have a one of a kind experience waiting for you. Feel free to browse our Animal Page and Video’s on the website. One day off per week for you to enjoy some leisure time and do sightseeing. One of the perks of Working Holidays at Akwaaba is our food and accommodation. You are also welcome to do take away meals if you feel like something different. The town of Rustenburg is not that far away; Pizza, Mc Donalds, Kentucky, Cape Town Fish Market and much more. You are required to keep your room and veranda area tidy but our cleaning staff will attend to your room 2 times a week. A Restaurant and other dining facilities are on site, together with a pool, braai (barbeque) facilities. We have a cell phone available, should you wish to get international roaming or a South African sim card for your phone. Signal however, it sometimes poor and it is best to rely on the internet rather than a cell phone signal. There is also a landline to make or receive calls (at your own expense) Transport from and to the airport will be provided, along with transport during sightseeing planned by us. Some nights we social and do team building around the boma fire. Or purchase this insurance as a complement to your home insurance or just for the period that you are volunteering. No qualifications needed, a love of animals and their conservation. Flights, Insurance, Cost of Visas (if a visa is required), Return transfer to airport.
