The Palmenhof Story The homestead was built in 1905 on a section of the farm Kroondal. This farm was bought by and divided among a group of farmers, including many of the offspring of the original missionaries. Such was his lifelong friendship with their Chief Mokgatle that he and his wife are buried next to the chief.
